Camouflage Deer Mystique ® deer herds have greatly improved in rack size, mast, and weight by feeding Camouflage Deer Mystique. Our research shows this time after time.
Camouflage Deer Mystique is most effective if you use a minimum of two 20 pound bags per hole or no more than four 20 pound bags per hole.
Directions: Dig a hole in the ground in the woods the width and length of at least two 20 pound bags of Camouflage Deer Mystique. The hole should be 4 inches to a foot deep. Pour Deer Mystique and mix dirt with it. Replace as needed. It will take approximately 6-10 bags per hole per year. The best place in the woods to use Camouflage Deer Mystique is near or under a white oak. A white oak gives you acorns every year. A red oak gives you acorns every other year. Camouflage Deer Mystique does not work well in sandy soils. If you have sandy soil, call and our staff will instruct you on the procedure to keep Camouflage Deer Mystique from leeching out of the soil.
The information and instructions above work for Camouflage Deer Mystique and are based on a decade of research. We do not know about other products or their procedure.

The photos below illustrate the various ways one can create food plots using Camouflage Deer Mystique. Notice also how close food plots can be placed near a house with the same rate of success. Some of these plots have been active for 15 years with daily buck sightings in the evenings, particularly the one in the first photo in the second row, which is described in the following news article. The tree stand, pictured, towers above and 100 yards away from this Deer Mystique fed plot on Ronnie Perkinson's Norlina, N.C. farm. Aside from seeing the deer in the evenings, there is no better evidence of deer than continually seeing tracks throughout the food plot.
When paired with Vanilla Clover, deer population not only keep coming back, but both products together provide bucks the nutrition needed for a trophy-sized rack.
Vanilla Clover contains a special mix of stair-step clovers and is designed so that each seed competes with each other rather than choking each other out. This combination provides you with a high protein legume for ten months a year.
Vanilla Clover Seed's ideal pH is 6.8. It also begins to reseed itself in the second year and will continue for five to ten years.

Nutrition Plays Key Role in Whitetail Deer Development
Note: The following article (reprinted from the Sept. 4, 1996 edition of the South Hill Enterprise) refers to Camouflage Deer Mystique Seed, which is now sold as Vanilla Clover -- a new formula.
Deer season is not far off and many hunters I have run into recently are already scouting their hunting lands for that elusive trophy buck. The bucks are out there -- but sometimes hard to find and ever tougher to harvest. A trophy-sized whitetail deer is usually considered to be a mature buck, about 3 1/2 years old, with antlers large enough to rank him among the best bucks annually harvested in that area.
Three things have to be considered in the making of these trophy-sized bucks: age, a quality food supply (nutrition), and genetics. A local manufacturer has developed two products to help hunters and wildlife managers increase the nutritional values of their hunting lands.
Buddy Farrar, of Farrar Farm Supply in South Hill, has been nurturing a deer attractant with high nutritional value that has proved effective in field tests since 1992. His product is called Camouflage Deer Mystique ® and it is aimed at maximum antler development in deer. He also says this product provides a nutritional boost for maximum development of the deer herd in general.
Secondly, Farrar has development and is marketing a special mixture of high protein wildlife seed known as Camouflage Deer Mystique Seed, especially aimed at providing an excellent food source for whitetail deer and also attractive for turkey, quail, and other game birds.
Farrar's Camouflage Deer Mystique offers an attractant that the landowner or hunt club can mix into the soil and provide a daily nutritional stop for the maturing deer. As Farrar puts it, "the spot that stays hot," For the best presentation, Farrar recommends digging a hole about 18 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. Then mix the Deer Mystique with the soil. From the evidence I saw recently, numerous deer had literally dug the entire hole out to get the attractant hole clean; except for deer tracks.
"Camouflage Deer Mystique provides a great source of nutrition for the deer herd and especially helps in the antler development of the bucks," Farrar says. "It is a combination of phosphorus, calcium, salt, and vitamins A, D3, and E. The deer have this as a vitamin supplement and it accelerates the body growth process." He recommends using three to eight 20-pound bags a year in each hole with February to Thanksgiving the preferred period of feeding.
"I feel it is most effective in the forest near the fields where you hunt and not out in open fields, but a customer of mine has found it most effective at the edges of his wildlife food plots," Farrar added.
More on this in a moment.
To round out and supplement this Deer Mystique product, Farrar has added a combination of wildlife seed to his product line. Camouflage Deer Mystique Seed is a combination of wildlife seed mixtures that produce succulent green vegetation in the winter for deer and equally loved by the resident turkey and game bird populations.
Farrar Farm Supply does not grow the seed but mixes it in its plant in South Hill.
"What I have is a mixture of lespedeza, three stair-step clovers, and alfalfa," Farrar said. "This combination gives you a high-protein legume for ten months a year. Most clovers have only ten weeks of value. Deer are where they eat and they will selectively feed on the best wild food available and on a landowner's well-fertilized crops and even domestic plants. Give a deer herd what they want best to eat and you will find well-developed deer."
Farrar recommends planting the Deer Mystique in soil whose ph is close to 6.8.
"This mixture of wildlife seeds will reseed itself in the second year and will continue to reseed for a period of five to ten years," he added. "It takes good genetics, a good source of food and food supplements, and time to produce a trophy white-tailed deer. We have the products to do just that."
"The bucks on my property and the property I lease have consistently been getting bigger each year," he says. "This season we should harvest what I consider trophy bucks, especially for this area which ten years ago you could hardly find and quality deer." Ronnie Perkinson of Norlina, N.C. frequently hunts an area on the Virginia/Carolina border of about 200 acres where he has experimented with the Deer Mystique. "In the three years I have used Deer Mystique, I have never been back to a hole after a rain and not seen fresh deer tracks. And the bucks are getting huge antler development from this nutrition source. I firmly believe in it. Deer Mystique does for my deer what steroids for a weightlifter."
Perkinson has also ringed some of this fields with the Deer Mystique Seed (as well as separate plots) and has high praise for its value. "Just look at the deer tracks here," he pointed out when I visited his property. And I must admit, there were paths all through the food plot where we stood.
"This is going to be a good year for big deer on my land," he added. "I have several large bucks we have been scouting -- and they are tremendous."
Farrar also emphasized the importance of proper fertilization of any wildlife food plot. If nutrients are not present in the soil where food plots are planted, they will not end up in the deer.
Carefully test your soil before planting. A little extra effort in soil preparation will mean the nutritional value of your plants will be much greater.
